Mirrors are a pretty fascinating thing.
I imagine the first person that ever saw one was a bit shocked, as seeing yourself for the very first time must have been strange in our pre-selfie/pre-front camera world.
But they’re here, they’re everywhere, and they help us make sure we’ve got our hair just right before going to that job interview.
While mirrors are interesting on their own, nothing beats seeing an animal’s reaction to a mirror.
Sometimes they’ll just stare at it for a bit, not exactly knowing how to react to what’s in front of them. Other times they completely freak out, thinking that another animal is in the room with them. And that’s my favorite kind of reaction.
Because it’s adorable.
Such is the case in today’s video, where we see a bird playing along, not aware of the mirror behind it. The bird dances around, looking all around when BAM, it sees itself in the mirror and immediately flips out.
What makes this video even better is seeing the bird slowly begin to look at the mirror. Even though you can see it coming, you can’t help but brace yourself for what’s to come.
One way or another, it’s entertaining, and you can’t help but smile, laugh, and watch it over and over and over again.
